Jomarie Coloriano was selected for the second, 15-member cohort of the Postsecondary State Career Technical Education (CTE) Leaders Fellowship at Advance CTE — Sponsored by ECMC Foundation. This 15-month national Fellowship strives to advance diverse state postsecondary Career Technical Education leadership through an intensive experience of workshops, coaching, and a real-world project dedicated to building the knowledge and social capital to be a skilled, equity-minded state leader.  A proud  first-generation college graduate, Coloriano’s professional experience is deeply influenced by her passion for social justice and systems reform. She has received multiple accolades for her work in diversity, equity, and inclusion and student support including being named the 2021 Gateway Technical College DEI Champion, the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators NOW 2020 Professional in Inclusion, and receiving the 2016 YWCA Southeast Wisconsin Women of Distinction Corrine Reid Owens Racial Justice Award. Currently, she serves as a Multicultural Support Specialist at Gateway Technical College and an adjunct faculty member in the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences and School of Protective and Human Services. Coloriano earned a bachelor’s degree in community engagement and education from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee and a master’s degree in social work from Aurora University. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in the Educational Policy and Leadership program at Marquette University.
