New Skills ready network 2021-2022 Snapshot: Columbus, Ohio

Columbus, Ohio, is one of the six sites selected to participate in the New Skills ready network. This five-year initiative, launched by JPMorgan Chase & Co. in 2020, aims to improve student completion of high-quality career pathways. In the second year of the initiative, the Columbus, Ohio, New Skills ready network team established active project workgroups and improving connections to existing initiatives, including Columbus Promise and STEAMM Rising. Additionally, workgroups evaluated and identified model equitable IT and health care career pathways, and worked with learners to develop pathway marketing materials.

This snapshot provides a summary of the three major priorities of Columbus, Ohio’s New Skills ready network team:

  1. Building and aligning cross-sector structures;
  2. Mapping and selecting identified equitable career pathways; and
  3. Strengthening communication with learners and families.
