50-State Comparisons: State Policy Models for Connecting Education to Work

This resource from the Education Commission of the States is a 50-State comparison tool that explores how states rely on multiple agencies to leverage postsecondary education to support state workforce development and individuals seeking jobs in their local economies. Focusing on three areas in particular — workforce investment boards, career pathway systems and financial aid for workforce development — the comparison tool supports efforts to connect agencies by identifying ways to activate collaboration between state actors and across policies, highlighting key players in each state working on connecting education to work, and showcasing state programs that connect residents with financial resources to facilitate credential completion. This resource is relevant for state policy makers interested in developing or strengthening cross-sector and cross-agency collaboration to support workforce development.
