Equity in Youth Apprenticeship Programs

Youth apprenticeship, an approach to education that pairs learning with hands-on work-based opportunities for young people, has the potential to build economic mobility by providing pathways to high-wage and in-demand careers. But too often there are barriers that limit access and success for learners from traditionally underrepresented groups.

This toolkit from the National Alliance for Partnerships in Equity was developed through the Partnership to Advance Youth Apprenticeship and is designed to help youth apprenticeship practitioners identify and mitigate barriers to access and success in youth apprenticeship. The toolkit is organized around four sections — equity in youth apprenticeships, access, belonging and continuous improvement — and includes readings, activities and resources to help practitioners improve equity in youth apprenticeship.
