Expanding Career Readiness through Career and Technical Student Organizations

Career Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) are national organizations that operate through state and local chapters to help learners develop leadership and technical skills in their career of interest. There are 11 nationally-recognized CTSOs that operate at both the secondary and postsecondary level, each providing diverse programming to help learners explore and hone their skills. This brief from the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) reviews and summarizes extant research on CTSOs to demonstrate how they help build academic, employability and technical skills.
