Hire for the Skills it Takes to Do the Job

This report from Opportunity @Work discusses the need for skills-based hiring practices to help business fill roles with high-quality talent and expand opportunites to the tens of millions of Americans currently screened out of jobs simply because they lack a four-year college degree. By removing degree requirements from job applications and developing effective ways to recognize skills, more Americans will be able to find meaningful, well-paying work, and businesses can access the talent they need to thrive in a fast-changing economy. This resource would be useful to employers looking to expand their skills-based hiring practices or CTE leaders who are considering how to prepare learners for the workforce of the future.
