New Skills ready network 2021-2022 Snapshot: Indianapolis, Indiana

Indianapolis, Indiana, is one of the six sites selected to participate in the New Skills ready network. This five-year initiative, launched by JPMorgan Chase & Co. in 2020, aims to improve student completion of high-quality career pathways. In the second year of the initiative, the Indianapolis, Indiana, New Skills ready network team embedded equity labs into the state Comprehensive Local Needs Assessment (CLNA) to identify equity gaps across all aspects of career pathways and improving career pathway quality through program consolidation. Additionally, Indianapolis Public Schools  embedded college and career advisors in high schools to improve postsecondary transitions.

This snapshot provides a summary of the three major priorities of Indianapolis, Indiana’s New Skills ready network team:

  1. Piloting the inclusion of Indiana’s equity labs in the Comprehensive Local Needs Assessment (CLNA) process;
  2. Completing career pathways sequencing and alignment; and
  3. Aligning career advising opportunities.
