Silver Spring, MD – July 12, 2024 – Advance CTE is pleased to announce its 2024-2025 Board of Directors, recently elected by its national network of members. Representing 12 states, these dedicated leaders bring a wealth of experience and expertise and will continue to build on our vision to place Career Technical Education (CTE) at the nexus of a more cohesive, flexible, and responsive career preparation ecosystem.
“Advance CTE has cultivated a strong reputation as a national pillar of support and innovation in CTE policy and practice at the state and federal levels. Their Opportunity Gap Analysis has been invaluable to us in Utah, helping us share learner participation and outcome insights statewide to meet our goal of Closing the Gaps by 2030. With such support, I am honored to now serve as Board President,” stated Thalea Longhurst, 2024-2025 Advance CTE Board of Directors President and State CTE Director for the Utah State Board of Education. “CTE can be a meaningful experience for every learner in every state and territory. I look forward to working with members to strengthen and expand a national framework with state innovation at the forefront that bridges industry and education and provides skills learners need for successful careers.”
“I am thrilled to continue leading this organization alongside our new Board of Directors,” stated Kate Kreamer, executive director of Advance CTE. “As we lead this transformative time in Career Technical Education with modernized structures and systems, I am confident the passion and expertise of our Board will equip state CTE leaders, educators, and industry and policy partners to leverage these opportunities to fully respond to the evolving needs of learning and work.”
