As a policy associate, Janeva researches and develops resources highlighting promising practices that support the implementation of high-quality Career Technical Education (CTE) and assists in implementing the National Career Clusters® Framework through member support, publications, and other tools. Born and raised in North Carolina, Janeva earned her bachelor’s in Psychology from Winston-Salem State University, an HBCU. Following undergrad, she earned her master’s in Educational Policy and Planning from the University of Texas at Austin. Before joining Advance CTE, Janeva interned at Education Strategy Group with the Career Readiness Portfolio, where she conducted a qualitative research study exploring the persistence and completion of high-quality pathways. During her graduate studies, she was involved in education coalitions in Texas striving to make curriculum and campus climate more diverse and inclusive. She also worked with a nonprofit focused on racial equity in education, where she supported a policy implementation strategy to combat education censorship. Janeva is passionate about racial equity, opportunity, and access, and is excited to apply her skills and background to support the work and mission of Advance CTE.
