Dr. Vera Brown serves as the Director for Career Technical Education at the Kansas Board of Regents. She works closely with Kansas technical colleges, community colleges, and universities to provide funding for technical programs and to promote innovation in CTE. Dr. Brown holds a bachelor’s degree in Technical and Professional Writing from Pittsburg State University as well as a master’s degree and a PhD in Media, Art, and Text from Virginia Commonwealth University. In her fifteen years in higher education, Dr. Brown taught critical thinking, language, and communication courses and served as an admissions counselor and student success coach. Helping students achieve their professional and academic goals is her primary focus and enjoyment.
