Cohort 2

 As a former small business owner, industry operations manager, and workforce educator, Nancy Ligus’ unique experience built a foundation for transitioning to postsecondary education, specifically in workforce development and work-based learning. She has served as Director of Workforce and Economic Development for the West Virginia Community & Technical College System as well as Workforce Director for two community colleges. She earned both a Human Resource Management Certificate and an associate degree in business marketing from the Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Seton Hill University.

Building CTE Access and Opportunity in West Virginia Through Local Workforce Ecosystems

Establish Local Workforce Ecosystems (LWFE). By engaging community-based agencies, organizations, secondary and post-secondary leaders, employers, and economic developers, this local collaboration and resource sharing will support CTE as a viable pathway toward meeting the workforce demands expected in the the tristate region, attracting high-wage energy and advanced manufacturing jobs.

Advance CTE Fellows are gaining the skills and connections to pursue state leadership positions and advance high-quality, equitable state postsecondary CTE systems.
