As a Communications and Advocacy Associate, Rob is on the Advance CTE communications team to track and communicate federal legislation and actions connected to Career Technical Education (CTE), collect and communicate member perspectives on federal policy, and contribute to nationwide initiatives related to federal policy. He also supports initiatives connected to the green workforce and the Partnership to Advance Youth Apprenticeship (PAYA).
Before joining the team at Advance CTE, Rob attended the University of Washington’s Evans School of Policy & Governance in Seattle, earning his master’s degree in public administration, focusing on social policy analysis and evaluation. During graduate school, he became enmeshed in his Seattle community, working for the President of the Seattle City Council and connecting with peers to advocate for a more inclusive curriculum and pedagogy at the Evans School. During his undergraduate studies, Rob completed a teacher preparation program at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, leading him to teach middle school social studies in northern Virginia for three years after earning his bachelor’s in social studies education.
A native of the Washington DC metro area, Rob is excited to support the organization in advocating for more federal investment in CTE, supporting members, and creating more equitable access to opportunities for learners nationwide.
