The paper outlines the potential for afterschool programs to support employability skill development, explores the mutually beneficial nature of aligning workforce and afterschool systems, examines case studies that illustrate the benefits of such alignment, and lists considerations for leaders who aim to more strategically align youth and workforce development areas. The paper examines cases of afterschool and workforce alignment in counties in Florida, Pennsylvania and Illinois.
