The OhioMeansJobs-Readiness Seal is a formal designation students can earn on their high school diplomas and transcripts indicating they have the personal strengths, work ethic and professional experience necessary for success in the workplace. To receive this seal, students work with at least three experienced and trusted mentors who validate the students' demonstration of professional skills in school, work or the community. This rubric from the Ohio Department of Education outlines the 14 criteria used to evaluate students pursuing the seal and how to determine students' skill levels within each criteria. This rubric can be used as a model for other states looking to establish formal designations to reflect students' workforce-ready skills.
