Advance CTE Announces New Board Leadership

Silver Spring, MD – July 1, 2019 – Today, Advance CTE welcomes its 2019-2020 officers.

“As this fiscal year begins, so too does the responsibility of the Advance CTE membership to boldly lead the implementation of the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act (Perkins V). Colorado, like all states, is hard at work engaging stakeholders to ensure that we maximize the opportunities afforded in the law to ensure programs meet the needs of employers and learners alike through a commitment to quality and equity,” said  Dr. Sarah Heath, Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Colorado Community College System, and Advance CTE Board President. “I am excited and grateful to serve as the Advance CTE President during this first year of Perkins V and as Advance CTE celebrates its 100-year anniversary in 2020. The work we do in CTE is gaining in visibility and support and leading this premier CTE organization, Advance CTE, during this incredible time of opportunity and responsibility is most exciting!”

In addition to Heath, officers include:

  • Vice President Dr. Marcie Mack, State CTE Director, Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education;

  • Secretary/Treasurer Ms. Heather Justice, Division Director College, Career and Military Preparation Division, Texas Education Agency; and
