Advance CTE Members Elect New Board Executive Committee

SILVER SPRING, MD – July 1, 2022 – Advance CTE’s 2022-2023 Executive Committee, who were recently elected by its nationwide network of members, begin their term of office today. Together, these four woman leaders bring decades of expertise, a collaborative spirit and a fierce commitment to being focused on expanding opportunity for learners across the nation. 

“Advance CTE has been a leading force for years, and I am deeply honored to serve as Board President,” said Laura Scheibe, State CTE Director in South Dakota. “I am passionate about Career Technical Education because it provides an array of paths to success for all Americans. As President, I will draw on my direct knowledge of the field in South Dakota, combined with the wisdom of our nationwide network, to drive Advance CTE’s bold vision for the future.”

The Executive Committee includes: 

President: Ms. Laura Scheibe, State CTE Director, South Dakota Department of Education 

Vice President: Dr. Katie Graham, State CTE Director, Nebraska Department of Education

Secretary/Treasurer: Thalea Longhurst, State CTE Director, Utah State Board of Education

Past President: Dr. Sarah Heath, State CTE Director, Colorado Community College System.

“Advance CTE’s success is possible because of the guidance and partnership our team has with our Board of Directors,” said Kimberly Green, Executive Director. “The diverse perspectives they bring fuel everything we do as we strive to make high-quality, equitable CTE available to each learner. I look forward to working with the newly elected Board members, as well as those who are continuing their terms, to boldly advance our shared vision – CTE Without Limits – and our work to be the nation’s leading CTE organization supporting states.”
