Competency-based education continues to garner the attention of policymakers, educators and the research community. Here are a few new pieces on competency-based education in both K-12 and higher education.

• From Achieve, creating innovation zones to advance competency-based pathways.
• The National Governors Association, in conjunction with its policy academy on competency-based education, released a primer on competency-based education from K-12 through higher education.
• The American Council on Education, as part of its Alternative Credit Project, has a series of papers looking at how to communicate the value of competencies and improve the quality of credentials students can earn.
