April was Second Chance Month, and many organizations advocated for policies and programs that allow for the education of incarcerated individuals and the preparation of future career success. Resource of The Week
Advance CTE is continuing to develop resources to help states navigate CTE during the current pandemic. This week. we released a new fact sheet on distance learning in rural communities. View and share this resource to help state leaders rethink how to provide high-quality CTE with limited social contact when access limitations are a barrier.
Legislative Update of the Week
Today, the House Education and Labor Committee Chairman Bobby Scott (D-VA) introduced a COVID-19 (Coronavirus) relief package that includes significant investments to help Americans secure the education and training they need to get back to work. The bill includes $3 billion for CTE, including $1 billion through the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act (Perkins V), and $2 billion for community college and industry partnerships.
