Dodd Hawthorne is the Assistant State Superintendent for the Alabama State Department of Education, Office of Career and Technical Education/Workforce Development. He oversees a dedicated team of over 40 CTE educators who are equipped and committed, ensuring that the students of Alabama are college and career ready. 

Mr. Hawthorne has 29 years of educational experience, having served as a teacher, principal, and superintendent. He previously served as the Superintendent for the Crenshaw County School System in Luverne, Alabama, for six years. 

Mr. Hawthorne resides in Brantley, Alabama, with his wife and children.
