As a policy associate on the data strategy team, Hira supports state Career Technical Education (CTE) leaders in informed, evidence-based decisionmaking. She contributes to Advance CTE research and initiatives, and provides technical assistance to help state leaders strengthen their data systems and make informed decisions to expand access to high-quality career preparation.
Prior to joining Advance CTE, Hira most recently worked in health education development and policy implementation, expanding access to health education by helping schools build customized comprehensive nutrition and physical activity programs. Additionally, she worked with statewide workgroups and public health agencies to collect data and assess gaps to help inform nutrition policy across the state of Nevada.
Hira was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, completing a bachelor of science in Public Health at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. During her undergraduate career, she worked as a research assistant in local think tanks and research organizations, where she focused on research related to workforce development and health outcomes in Las Vegas and the Mountain West region.
With an extensive background in education and research, Hira’s work continues to focus on expanding access and enhancing program effectiveness.
