Marie Barry is currently an independent consultant with more than 30 years’ experience in education, counseling and workforce development addressing the complexities of issues related to policy and program implementation while never losing focus on the individual. She served as State Director of CTE for more than ten years during her 18-year tenure at the New Jersey Department of Education with a focus on strengthening statewide collaboration and partnerships between education, business and labor communities to foster the development high-quality programs to support success for all students.
Marie has an unwavering commitment to expand opportunities for all learners to discover their passion and achieve their educational and career goals, having provided services for youth and adults in the community. She designed and taught programs at Ocean County College to address the varied career development needs of students, the entering workforce, displaced workers and incumbent workers and also coordinated services to facilitate positive outcomes for individuals with severe disabilities. She is a NJ certified school counselor and licensed professional counselor, a national board-certified counselor and a certified rehabilitation counselor. Marie holds a Bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University and a Master’s degree in Counseling and Special Services from Seton Hall University.
