Hey y’all hey! My name is Brittany Veal, and I’m so excited to join the Advance CTE team as your new Finance Manager! In this role, I’ll be the organization’s financial operations and ensuring that our resources are aligned with our mission—so we can continue doing big, meaningful work with clarity and confidence.
I bring over 15 years of experience in nonprofit management, grants administration, finance, and procurement. My professional journey has taken me from managing grant programs at Indiana Black Expo to streamlining procurement processes across nine campuses at Indiana University. I’ve always been drawn to the “infrastructure” side of mission-driven work—the budgets, systems, and strategies that help keep programs strong, sustainable, and impactful. I have a Green Belt in Six Sigma so digging into processes is my JAM! I’ve loved finding ways to make complex processes more efficient, transparent, and accessible.
I was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, and proudly carry that Midwestern spirit with me (including a love for random weather conversations and always saying “you’re fine” when someone bumps into me).
Outside of work, I wear a few different hats! I’m a certified doula, supporting birthing people and families through one of life’s most transformational experiences. Check out my website if you want to learn more. I’m also a proud member of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, where I serve as co-chair of the education committee (go figure, right?). It’s deeply fulfilling to be part of a network of women advancing access and opportunity through education and advocacy.
At home, I share space with my 18-year-old Yorkie, who somehow still has more energy than I do some days—and definitely runs the house.
What drew me to Advance CTE is the energy, mission, and collaborative spirit of this team. I’m genuinely excited to support this work, learn from all of you, and contribute in ways that make things a little smoother behind the scenes.
I look forward to getting to know all of you, learning from your expertise, and contributing to the mission in every way I can.
If you’re ever in Indy (by choice or by chance), reach out! I’ll show you around the place!
Thanks for the warm welcome already—I’m so happy to be here and let’s do great things together!
