As a Policy Associate, Velie conducts research and develops resources to support Advance CTE’s state policy initiatives, including the New Skills ready network, the annual Year in Review, and the Green Workforce. She is also responsible for the State Policy Updates blog series. 

Prior to joining Advance CTE, Velie worked as a Project & Policy Leader at Mobilify Southwestern Pennsylvania, an organization that advocates for equitable access to multi-modal transportation choices. She recently obtained a master of science in Public Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University, and she also holds a bachelor of arts in Political Science.

Born in Cameroon and raised in the United States, Velie has lived in many places. She recently moved back to Maryland after 15 years, but will always consider Texas home.
