This tool was developed by the Tennessee Department of Education during Phase One of the New Skills for Youth Initiative to assist intermediary organizations in the Pathways Tennessee network in evaluating career pathways. The tool includes rubrics for K-14/16 Career Pathways, Career Information and Advising, Employer Engagement and Intermediaries. It describes quality criteria on three dimensions — initiating, developing and demonstrating — and provides well-defined examples within each. Though designed specifically for Pathways Tennessee, the tool provides a meaningful template for other states working to define quality criteria or build rubrics to support the quality of career pathways. It can be modified and used to assess regional career pathways in other states.
